Tuesday Morning Coffee Cast
"Tuesday Morning Coffee" is a 75 minute digital feature
movie with a script loosely based on a true story, and was developed in the community
of Delavan, Minnesota. This script was a winner in the Minnesota Blockbuster
McKnight Film Development Fund Grant in 1996. It was filmed in
Delavan in 1999, casting locals to star in
the movie and they're actually quite good! It's humorous and light and
a valentine to a dying lifestyle-- celebrating "community" in
a way sadly lacking in so much of today's media. The whole family
can enjoy it! When 15 year old Pookie is sent to live
with her grandmother in Delavan she has no idea of the
adventure she will be undertaking. It all happens on a Tuesday in
southern Minnesota when several farmer's wives get together to check up
on gossip..... and ends with a funeral.
This independent
film is currently in "rough cut" form, and was screened in
Delavan (June 14th & 16th, 2002) during their 125th
Anniversary Celebration. On the July 17th news, Channel KEYC12 (Mankato) said "...after
three years, this funny, ...homage to small-town Delavan life is finally
being shown to its stars- the people of Delavan." The
Mankato Free Press, on July 17th, 2002 stated that the 500 people
"...audience was...highly receptive to the film, as ... was the
cast...who as it turned out acted remarkably well." |
